Victor is always sitting in a chair because he has to. He has a condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) which means that his muscles are very weak and he can’t stand or walk. His only way of getting around is by sitting in a chair and using his arms to move himself.
Even though it may seem like Victor is always just sitting around, he’s actually doing a lot of work just to stay alive. His body needs constant care and support, so he spends a lot of time in his chair.
1) Why is Victor Always Sitting in a Chair
Victor is always sitting in a chair because he has a spinal cord injury and is paralyzed from the waist down. He uses a wheelchair to get around, but prefers to sit in a regular chair when possible so that he can feel more like a “normal” person.
Victor’s spinal cord injury was caused by a car accident when he was 18 years old.
He was driving home from college one night and hit an icy patch of road, causing him to lose control of his car and crash into a tree. He was lucky to survive the accident, but it left him with permanent damage to his spine.
Since he can’t move his legs or use them to support himself, Victor has to rely on his upper body strength to get around.
This means that he tires easily and often has pain in his shoulders and arms from using them so much. Sitting in a chair helps take some of the pressure off of his muscles and gives him a chance to rest.
Victor knows that he is lucky to be alive and tries not to let his injuries define him.
He works hard every day to stay positive and live life to the fullest despite his challenges.
Conclusion
In Victor’s case, it is necessary for him to sit in a chair because he has a genetic disorder called neurofibromatosis. This disorder causes tumors to grow on the nerves throughout his body. These tumors can be painful and cause paralysis if they grow large enough.
Sitting in a chair helps take the pressure off of his bones and joints and prevents the tumors from growing larger.
