Begin by stretching your new fabric over the foam. Make sure that the fabric is taunt so that there are no wrinkles. Once the fabric is in place, use a staple gun to secure it to the underside of the chair.

Stapling New Fabric In Place.

Start by stapling the fabric in the center of one side of the chair. Then, work your way out towards the corners, making sure to pull the fabric taut as you go. Once all four sides are complete, trim any excess fabric with a sharp knife or scissors.

Trimming Excess Fabric.

Use a sharp knife or scissors to trim away any excess fabric from around the edges of the chair. Be careful not to cut too close to the staples or you may damage the new upholstery.
